Ab Emam, Founder, Web Development Group
Ab Emam has been in the industry for over a decade and began his career with founding and running a digital team geared towards the Capitol Hill political scene. With over a third of the House of Representatives as clients, GovTrends was the top web vendor for the Hill. The company was acquired in 2011, where Ab (as Founder and Principal)– along with his colleagues –rebooted WDG as a full-service web agency focused on building user-oriented experiences for established brands and commercial clients. Since then, the agency has grown exponentially and continues to give back to their local community with skill-based volunteering through the team’s initiative, GiveBack DC.


Adelia Curtis Duarte, Senior Recruiter, Uber
Adelia Curtis Duarte is a technology aficionado with a passion for helping talented teams grow their organizations. She is currently a recruiter for Uber Technologies helping lead hiring efforts across the east coast.Previously, Adelia was the technical recruiting manager at LivingSocial focusing her efforts on dev, product and design hiring. After starting her career with Opower she realized that talent was her sweet spot and has focused on HR ever since. Adelia has also consulted for NPR and early stage ventures. A world traveler, she's spent as much time overseas as she has in the states and loves any opportunity to put her foreign language skills to use.


Jessica Bayer, Vice President, Talent Acquisition and HR, Qorvis MSL Group
Jessica Bayer is a Vice President at MSLGROUP. In this role, she leads recruitment for a number of offices across North America including Washington D.C., Seattle, Boston, Atlanta and another Publicis agency Kekst in New York. Bayer has built her reputation in the communications industry and strong relationships with the industry’s leaders. She possesses a demonstrated ability to use recruitment as a catalyst for resolving critical business issues. Additionally, Bayer successfully partners with internal stakeholders to ensure recruitment strategies are in alignment with the overall business strategy.


Annie Scagel, Senior Recruiter, Blue State Digital
Annie Scagel (Skay-jul): is a corporate Recruiter for Blue State Digital. She moved to DC in 2013 and worked as a contract Recruiter for an international non-profit. Annie began her career in public relations in Los Angeles, and after working in several communications positions she took a position in as a Creative Recruiter with The Boss Group in Atlanta.  She's passionate about finding the perfect match for a position and enjoys bridging connections and opportunities for others.


Devon Conley, Senior HR Manager, Ketchum
Devon Delmonico Conley, Senior Human Resource Manager, oversees the Ketchum DC, Atlanta, and Dallas offices in the areas of recruitment, career development and training, performance management, employee relations, benefits, and compensation.  Prior to Ketchum she worked at Morgan Lewis where she developed her Human Resources career for 6 years.  Devon graduated with an MBA from University of Baltimore, and dual Bachelors of Science degrees in Management and Psychology from Penn State University.  She also has a Social Media in HR Certificate from Cornell University, and an HR Management Certificate from George Mason University. 


Lee Schatzberg, HR Generalist, Ogilvy
Lee Schatzberg joined Ogilvy Public Relations as an HR Generalist in February 2014. In addition to her Generalist duties, she leads recruiting efforts for Ogilvy’s Social Marketing, Social@Ogilvy, Creative Studio, and Public Affairs groups in DC. Prior to joining Ogilvy, Lee lived and worked in New York City at a company providing HR services to small to mid-sized professional firms, where she was the direct HR point of contact for over 60 clients and 700 employees and led a team of HR Associates. Lee is currently pursuing a master’s degree in HR Management at Georgetown University. She also holds a PHR certification from the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM).

 

Adam Khan, Founder, PlusUp Studios
Adam helps global brands, startups, and mission-driven organizations recruit and develop the best people to work on the boldest ideas. Previously, Adam headed up a ground-breaking digital transformation initiative at L'Oreal in New York, where he was responsible for talent pipelining and development across Digital, Marketing, Analytics, Investments, and E-Commerce functions, while creating a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship across the beauty giant's 30+ brands. Prior to that he led award-winning digital and mobile efforts at AKQA, one of the world's top creative agencies, for clients like Apple, Nike, and Volkswagen. A fan of all things inspiring, measurable, differentiated and of true value, Adam is interested in combining data with clever people, sustainable processes, and elegant technology, to create a positive impact. He is particularly excited about the future of e-commerce and wearable technologies, and is presently helping brands radically improve the in-store retail customer and employee experience.
