ADWKDC is a year's worth of great programming packed into one amazing week for the area's marketing community. It offers top-notch speakers, with relevant and thought-provoking topics, so that advertising and marketing professionals can learn new information and perspectives that help them in their career, as well as networking opportunities.  The steering committee is broken into sub-committees for venues, speakers/panelists, sponsorship, creative materials, and public relations to promote the week-long event, which takes place in fall of each year.

The Communications Committee keeps the growing AAF DC membership and online community connected through social media channels including Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, blogger and media relations and e-marketing. The team creates shareable content and promotes high-value events, programs and services benefiting advertising profession throughout the metro area.

Members of this committee work to contact potential speakers, help formulate the programs, develop creative for event materials and work to organize the most effective way to publicize each program.

Golf Outing

This committee works to sell sponsorships for holes, plan event logistics, and develop creative for event materials. Committee members will also work with local vendors to secure prizes. The annual Golf Outing is held in late summer/early fall of each year.

GoodWorks is AAF DC’s committee dedicated to promoting and enhancing public service efforts in the DC Advertising and Marketing community. AAF DC members work with nonprofit organizations to assist them in achieving their goals through various means such as branding, marketing, volunteering and mentoring. The GoodWorks Committee has two means to help contribute: our long-term partnership with a selected charity, and through GoodWorks Connect, a listing page of charities that are seeking assistance.

The Membership Committee identifies and targets key organizations and individual members, develops promotions to attract and retain members, initiates and analyzes annual surveys and qualitative outreach, and contacts new members to welcome them to the organization.

Nonprofit Media Program

The Nonprofit Media Program works closely with media companies and nonprofits, connecting nonprofits with low-cost advertising from some of the premier media outlets in the Washington, DC area.

The Sponsorship Committee works closely with the Board and all other committees to secure funds to support events and programs. This committee recommends sponsorship programs for programs and events and works to define the levels of sponsorship. The committee explores sustaining sponsorships for AAF DC; develops and implements strategies for attracting new sponsors; solicits targeted sponsorships and ensures sponsor benefits are provided and sponsors are satisfied with their participation in the organization.
